Moko-Beneficiaries

WHO ARE MOKOSEEK’S NON-PROFIT BENEFICIARIES?

PEALdefinition: “A loud burst of noise

The word “Peal” embodies Mokoseek’s goal of “sounding an alarm” which we hope will awaken a unified and action-oriented African Diaspora. It also encapsulates the metric by which we will measure our net impact.

Peal (P.E.A.L) relates to our goal of:

- reducing Poverty;
- increasing access to Educational resources & historical information;
- decreasing the incidence of HIV/AIDS;
- and assisting in the development of social, economic, and governmental Leadership.

The four goals which form the acronym P.E.A.L were chosen because we wanted to concentrate on a small number of objectives which we felt would yield the most benefit to the communities of the African Diaspora. Both Poverty and Aids are urgent issues that must be mitigated worldwide; a community affected by hunger and disease cannot concentrate on building institutions and planning for the future. Furthermore, a community which demands to empower itself requires a solid Educational foundation and needs social, political, and spiritual Leadership to pave the way towards prosperity.

Each non-profit organization (our “Moko-Partners”) is chosen on the basis of their effectiveness in working to improve conditions within the African Diaspora by tackling one or more of the areas of concern highlighted by the acronym P.E.A.L.. For example, one of our Moko-Partners, Project Africa Global, is helping to fight Aids and Poverty in Swaziland, while educating future leaders in South Africa.

A moderate number of organizations are chosen to become Moko-Partners because Mokoseek strongly believes that success will not be achieved if we cannot make significant strides to aid the organizations that have proven that they can make a difference. If every organization received just a couple of dollars, we believe that the use of that money would not be as effective as a few commendable organizations that received a couple thousand dollars.

The Mokoseek leadership team will choose the initial group of Moko-Partners. The money raised will be allocated based on each organization's need. In 2008, and going forward, Mokoseek users will have the opportunity to choose which organizations are added to the list of beneficiaries based on submissions from each organization. Submissions will be displayed on Mokoseek.com for users to vote on. More information about the submission process will follow in the coming months.
